For the meat filling:

  • 1.1 lbs (500 g) ground beef
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 large tomato (diced)
  • 2.5 oz (70 g) tomato paste
  • A bunch of fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Salt, pepper, paprika, oregano (to taste)

Topping:

  • 3.5 oz (100 g) mozzarella cheese (shredded)

🔪 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

  • Peel and boil the potatoes until soft.
  • Mash them with butter, chopped dill, salt, paprika, pepper, and oregano until smooth and well-seasoned.
  • Let them cool slightly, then shape into “nests” on a parchment-lined baking tray. Use a spoon to press down the centers to create a hollow.

2. Cook the Filling:

  • In a skillet, sauté chopped onion and garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Stir in red bell pepper, tomato, tomato paste, and seasonings.
  • Simmer until the mixture is thick and aromatic.
  • Mix in chopped parsley and set aside.

3. Assemble:

  • Fill each mashed potato nest with the beef mixture.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

4. Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Optionally broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden top.

🍽️ Serve:

  • Garnish with extra dill or parsley.
  • Enjoy hot as a hearty main or a fun party dish!
